Sowing in February
February is the windowsill month. Tomatoes, peppers and chillies need a long run-up and want sowing into trays now, while outdoors the soil is usually still too cold and too wet. Under fleece or in a cold frame the first direct sowings are possible; otherwise waiting pays.
